Class structure

In this life drawing class, students will learn a simple and effective approach for drawing the human figure. Following the academic approach, students will begin with an exploration of gesture, volumetric drawing and light theory and the various techniques used for rendering the three dimensional form. Composed of short and long poses, each student will be given ample time to study the shapes, values and edges of the figure and explore different techniques.

  • Generals charcoal pencils, 2B, 4B

  • Vine charcoal
  • flat razors for sharpening pencils

  • tracing paper for corrections & instructor demonstrations
